I’m not sure where the bees thing came from. Many think it started with this ridiculous image.

But no, it was my “catch phrase” before I found that. I was saying “Bees” before it was cool to add “My God” after it. But I’m really not sure why.

The jar of bees came from an idea of what a deadly bee weapon could be. A cannon, or a gun, that shoots jars of bees. The jar shatters, and the bees swarm about the target. Or, one could merely open a jar full of genetically-altered superbees and they could swarm and attack. Like this

On the left is my first real online persona, Mauve Shirt. Drawn in Order of the Stick style for the Giant in the Playground forums.

This segues nicely into one of my pet peeves. Misconceptions about the color mauve.
First of all, it is pronounced to rhyme with “grove” (just one source). It is not “mawv”, and it is most certainly not “mowv” (vowel sound “ow”).

Second of all, it is not this color: That is mauve-taupe. Mauve is this color:

I do have a real jar of bees, you know.

I got it for Christmas!
